In addition to these main routes, Kuils River benefits from an extensive network of metropolitan roads including the M12 (Stellenbosch Arterial; Polkadraai Road), connecting Stellenbosch with Cape Town International Airport and Elsiesrivier; the M23 (Bottelary Road), linking Stellenbosch with Bellville; the M32 (Nooiensfontein Road), providing access to Blue Downs from Kuils River; and the M100 (Saxdowns Road), connecting Kuils River with Brackenfell.

  • Summer (Dec–Feb): Warm to hot (15–28°C), sometimes reaching mid-30s°C, with a record high of 43°C.

  • Autumn (Mar–May): Pleasant temperatures (20–22°C) with moderate rainfall.

  • Winter (Jun–Aug): Cool days (12–17°C), cold nights (4–8°C), and the highest rainfall in June, contributing to an annual 730 mm of precipitation.

Municipal

 

Officially recognised as a town in 1898, Kuils River gained its municipal status in 1950 but was absorbed into the City of Cape Town municipality in 2000. It is now managed under Subcouncil 14, falling within Wards 11 and 19, with a very small exception falling into Wards 8 and 14.

Sport

 

Having 2 expansive sport fields, tennis court, bowls green, golf course and a rich history of competitive rivalry, sports enthusiasts will be more than spoilt for choice, there is no reason to not go out there and have a good workout.

Faith

 

Kuils River has a rich religious background that spans all the way back to 1842. Since then the town has become home to many a denomination with beautiful church buildings, which include a mosque built in the late 1980’s, dotted all over the town.
